We currently have an exciting opportunity for Food and Beverage Servers to work in our Food and Beverage department. As a server, you will provide superior service to member and guests in our restaurants.

Islington Golf Club is a private club founded in 1923, during the "Golden Age" of golf course construction. In 2019, we were awarded Club of the Year by the Canadian Managers Association of Canada. In 2022, we were privileged to host the practice facilities for the RBC Canadian Open. This year is a celebratory year for us, we will be celebrating 100 years!

What you bring:

• Smart Serve Certification
• Previous customer service experience
• Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time
• Comfort using a POS system
• Valid Canadian work permit

What you will do:

• Provides immediate attention to all members/guests upon seating
• Distributes menus
• Fills water glasses: answers questions and suggest menu items
• Takes members/guests food and beverage orders
• Places orders in POS system, checking for accuracy when entering
• Makes supervisor aware of any dietary concerns; double checks to ensure accuracy
• Orders food indicating proper seat numbers to ensure accuracy
• Delivers all food and beverage items to tables
• Performs periodic service checks to ensure members/guests are satisfied with their meals, beverages, and service
• Monitors food quality and presentation standards
• Replenishes water, bread, butter, etc
• Maintains current knowledge of Islington's "Steps of Service" and executes them according to guidelines
• Ensures accuracy of chits and presents to member for signature
• Closes chits at end of day according to set procedures
• Keeps tables, dining areas and other areas clean
• Advises supervisors/managers of any complaints as soon as they occur
• Attends pre-shift meetings as required
• Remains informed about current and upcoming events
• Finds opportunities during slow periods to perform other tasks, ie. clean, organize, etc.
• Other duties as required
