Position Description

Islington Golf Club is a private golf club founded in 1923, during the "Golden Age" of golf course construction. The Club enjoys the recognition being awarded Club of the Year by the Canadian Managers Association of Canada in 2019.

2023 is a celebratory year as the Club turns 100 years!

We have an exciting opportunity for a Communications Coordinator. This position is responsible for the creation, design and execution of the Club’s printed and electronic communications, website and social media presence, and other internal and external written communications and marketing materials.  This position requires a polished, detailed, dynamic individual with the discipline to work independently, along with people skills to effectively collaborate with others. 

Responsibilities

  • Work with the various departments to proactively coordinate gathering and editing communications content for dining, golfing events, and weekly e-blasts
  • Designs and manages internal traditional and electronic communications and digital displays.
  • Designs, develops new content, and maintains all aspects of the Club’s website and is the point person for assistance.
  • Ensures that all materials and campaigns are aligned with the Club’s Strategic Plan and vision, and brand identity, including refreshing designs on a yearly basis.
  • Serves as a liaison between printing house and the Club, including obtaining quotes and submitting projects.
  • Manages creation and selection of photography and videos for print and electronic communications.
  • Creates content for and manages social media platforms.
  • Provides support for certain administrative tasks as part of the Administration department 

Qualifications

  • Post secondary education in communications and design with intermediate proficiency in design software, ie. Adobe Creative Suite, Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Minimum three years of work experience in digital communication and design
  • Jonas Software, Golf Genius and digital display software experience an asset
  • Experience in a private club environment and knowledge of the golf industry an asset
  • Knowledge of social media platforms, collecting and interpreting analytics
  • Member or customer service experience is an asset
  • Excellent oral, written, editing and creative skills
  • Accurate and detail oriented and organized in order to meet required deadlines
  • This is not a remote position 

Salary Details

Islington Golf Club offers a competitive compensation package including: yearly bonus, onsite parking, comprehensive benefits plan, staff meal, golf privileges.  A yearly salary will commensurate with experience.

Salary range

$55,000 to $61,000
